NRL Fantasy recommendation - Avoid Liam Martin

Liam Martin averaged 45 FP in 2019 starting at either lock or an edge, but in 2020 his spot was in jeopardy with Kurt Capewell, a Queensland Origin player, signing with the club. Capewell killed it in his first two games with a score of 75 and 55, but his season was short lived by a knee injury in the 3rd round.

On comes Martin back into the starting spot, his first 5 games weren’t anything to be over the moon about at 39.6 FP, but he did find a bit of form after that with his next 7 games he averaging 55 FP, 55 is a great score especially on an edge, it is actually higher than David Fifita’s 2020 average.

The concerning factor for Martin in 2021 is the resurface of Capewell. With Martin, Capewell and Kikau all in the Panthers team there looks to be a rotation of minutes happening. In the trials Capewell played the full 80 with Martin losing time to Kikau. I cant see kikau playing the full 80 this yea especially since he only played 80 mins 5 times last year.

With Liam Martin having a great end to season in 2020 I think he has outpriced himself to start the 2021 especially with the doubt of him playing 80 it will be interesting to see who will start on the EDG out west but I still think I will be spending my cash elsewhere.
